Cleve Bostick Memorial Foundation

The Cleve Bostick Memorial Foundation was set up shortly after the untimely death of Cleve Bostick on August 13, 2006.  His enthusiasm for life was contagious.  He had a gift for touching people’s lives, and it is because of that gift, his family and friends created the Cleve Bostick Memorial Foundation.

The Foundation provides funding for numerous programs and activities in Southwest Georgia which support and encourage young people to make positive choices and resist unhealthy behaviors.  It also provides support for youth to expand their educational experience beyond high school by providing scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors from each of the four high schools in Mitchell County:  Westwood Schools, Baconton Community Charter School, Pelham City High School and Mitchell County High School.

In addition to the student scholarships awarded each year, the Cleve Bostick Memorial Foundation has provided support and assistance in many positive ways to impact Southwest Georgia.  The following are some examples:
- Provided funding to assist Southwest Georgia Easter Seals in purchasing a van to transport children with disabilities so that they can receive the services they need.
-Purchased a much-needed modular building for a Pre-K program for one of the schools in Mitchell County, so that additional children could be served.
-Awarded grants to ten counties in Southwest Georgia who committed to promote positive assets in young people in their communities, equipping them to make positive decisions, while resisting the negative influences they encounter every day.
-Made monetary donations to the Phoebe Foundation Children’s Miracle Network.
-Funded scholarships through the Southwest Georgia Technical College Foundation for students in need of financial assistance.
-Provided support to MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving).
-Provided support and assisted with other projects, activities and events that enable young people to learn to make positive choices, thus becoming productive citizens in our communities.

The main fundraising event for the Foundation is the annual Cleve’s Quails event.
